While we were at slop point we were kindly given some home kill of wild venison from a fellow camper of which Lola made some very yummy patties out of.


Venison, 1 onion, 1 egg, seasoning, few slices of bread for crumbs to coat patties.

New potatoes,

Fresh greens,

Oil for cooking.


First get the spuds under way by bring them to the boil in salted water, and then while there cooking through start the patties.

Make some bread crumbs ready, or use ready packet crumbs, chop the onion finely.

Mix the minced meat, the egg, chopped onion and seasoning together, then add a little bread crumbs if it feels a little too wet, otherwise use the seasoned crumbs to coat the patties as you make them, ready to cook in a pan or on the BBQ.

Get the pan hot ready to cook the patties and the quick cook greens too so as ready together, mash the spuds and add what you wish ( butter, milk of some kind or cream, seasoning ) and serve with a salad or whatever you wish on the side – Lola served ours with fruit chutney.
