Onwards and south towards Oamaru

We left the country town of Geraldine and cruised south spending a couple of nights at park over properties. Our first was night was near Ashburton where our friendly hosts invited us to see their beautiful classic cars they'd restored. Our second night was near Geraldine at a brewery with space to park - very convenient for a pint. Traveling around this part of New Zealands flatter with long long straight roads with wind braking trees that go on for miles, which is quite a [...]

Christchurch and Okains Bay.

Well we had a wonderfully busy time in Christchurch catching up with good friends and visiting some places we hold dear. see the posted photos of the views from Scarborough hill with Christchurch to the North and Taylors Mistake to the south. While we were there there was a little community surf comp going on at Taylors mistake beach so it was buzzing that day. So after a long weekend in Christchurch we headed south taking the most stunningly scenic Akaroa road and on to [...]

We spent that evening with friends - Happy campers too that we met in our home turf some time ago traveling in there classic bedford bus. We did a walk around Picton before leaving town for the county town of Murchison where there's another one of those wonderful park over properties where we camped for the [...]

Time in Wellington/ Extravaganza fair and ferry crossing to the South Island

Here we are  now worked our way down the south island and left the snow caped peaks of Mount Ruapehu and headed for the coast where we met another family living with PWS in Wellington. We shared an evening and enjoyed a homecooked Mexican meal together. Their  little girl isn't quite 2 years old, so Isla very much enjoyed mothering her while we were there- see photo. Our weekend in Wellington conveniently coincided with the Extravaganza Gypsy Fair, which was a fun filled few days. [...]
